Potato 2005 - a European showcase for The Higgins Group

Finningley, Doncaster: As one of Europe�s leading potato supply companies, the Higgins Group (stand number D121) will have a strong presence at Potato 2005 which takes place in Emmeloord in the Netherlands from 5th � 9th September 2005.

The company�s activities encompass all stages of the potato life cycle from the development of new varieties, seed and mini-tuber production through to ware growing and contracting, storage, distribution and management of supply at customer factories.

Europe has become increasingly important for the Higgins Group both as a growing base and a source of new customers, resulting in Pommies, the company�s European operation in Reims, France undergoing major expansion over recent years. Staffed by multi-linguists, it has developed a strong supply network across Western Europe, exporting throughout the continent on a daily basis.

Higgins Group Managing Director David Higgins believes the exhibition will attract visitors from all over Europe, including those countries which, having joined the EU last year, are now are undergoing great changes to their agriculture industry. He said:
