Success in Villers Saint Christophe

Villers Saint Christophe, in the Aisne district of France became the �in-place� to be for anyone connected with the potato industry, when it hosted the �4�mes journees internationals de la pomme de terre� � the French Potato Fair on 1st and 2nd September 2004. The Higgins Group, and Pommies, were major contributors to the success of the show.



Under blue skies, a team of representatives from both sides of the Channel gave a warm welcome to visitors from nearly a hundred different companies from countries all over Europe and North Africa. The stand even attracted people from as far away as Brazil and Saudi Arabia, to ask about the company or to discuss business for the coming season.



David Higgins commented, �The Higgins �big bag� trailer was a major

attraction, catching the eye and imagination of many of the visitors to the show. Unfortunately, the warm, dry weather, which followed weeks of rain, affected attendances this year. It tempted some farmers to stay at home to complete the harvest!



�However, both the Higgins Group and Pommies have taken advantage of the two days to welcome over 100 farmers to our stand, and to renew our contact with current and past growers; we have come away with a list of useful prospects. My thanks to everyone who made the show such a success for us.�
